Jessica Bedard: Designer and Comfort

When your big day comes to completion you want to keep the memories of it for a lifetime. Your shoe can be a big part of those memories.

The questions that should come to mind as a bride while choosing your bridal shoe is,'What are the most important things you should consider before buying your shoes for your wedding day?'

In this article we will be talking about important things you should consider before buying your wedding shoes. We cannot overemphasise the importance of choosing a perfect wedding shoe because a pair of shoe that kills your feet changes everything about you—your posture, your face, you get angry—I mean nobody should be going through the most exciting day of their life wishing that they weren't wearing something that they are wearing.

Designer or Comfort.

Is it designer driven or comfort? Remember it is only one night out of the rest of your life, walking down the aisle in your dream pair of shoes in comfort from designers such as Prada, Jimmy Choo, Givenchy, Kate Spade, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Steve Madden or your favourite designer Jessica Bedard, will be one of the best decisions you can make in this regards.

Pick shoes that suit your feet structure and are super easy to walk in and make sure to go with the shoe with softer and comfy inside. If you’re having an outdoor or beach wedding, avoid wearing skinny-heeled shoes altogether. Experiment with stylish wedges to get that extra height without sinking your feet in sand or mud.

Try something with a touch of Blue.

Why follow the lot when you can be you. Although most brides opt for traditional white or beige-colored shoes, you can stray from the tradition and experiment with some brightly colored shoes or ones with the perfect blend of blue that can add a little sass to your wedding outfit.

Consider the Heels.

There are various heights of heels, 5-6 inches tall and kitchen heels that are only 1-2 inches so if you’re worried about heels, try the different sizes and see if the smaller heels work for you.

The last thing you want is to spend your wedding holding on to every table and wall while wincing in pain at every step. Your big day should be special and your shoes should be comfortable.

Have a Spare.

It is always safe to have a spare just in case.  Accidents can happen anytime and anywhere and as much as we hate to admit even on your wedding day. So, in case the heel breaks or the straps come undone, keep an extra pair of shoes handy to wear if your wedding shoes are ruined. At some point during your wedding ceremony, you might want to change your shoe for something easy to wear a flat or a slip on might come handy for you.

Have a Test Run.

Wearing the shoes in beforehand means that you can decide fully if they’ll be right for you and if you need to make any adjustments, such as a different size or adding extra padding and shoe inserts. In addition, we mean every word of the ‘test run’,  do a complete walk through the marriage banquet you have booked to make sure you can walk comfortably through the ceremony and the reception areas of your wedding venue. Ensure it come with padding for comfort.
